Australia unveils 17-player squad for Pakistan T20I tour

Australia have confirmed a 17-member squad for their upcoming T20 International tour of Pakistan, with all-rounder Mitchell Marsh named captain for the three-match series in Lahore.

On January 29, January 31, and February 1, with each game set to begin at 4:00pm local time the matches will be played in Gaddafi Stadium. These series will serve as an important preparation phase for ICC Men T20 World Cup 2026 scheduled to take place from February 7 to March 8.

At the global event, Pakistan will compete in Group A alongside India, the USA, the Netherlands, and Namibia, while Australia have been placed in Group B with Sri Lanka, Ireland, Zimbabwe, and Oman.

This tour will be Australia’s third visit to Pakistan since their landmark return in March–April 2022, when they played a historic Test series, followed by an ODI series and a solitary T20I. More recently, Australia featured in three matches of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 hosted in Pakistan.

Pakistan and Australia have faced each other 28 times in T20 Internationals so far. Australia hold a narrow edge with 14 victories, while Pakistan have won 12 matches. One contest ended in a tie, and another was washed out.

Australia’s T20I squad:  Mitchell Marsh (captain), Josh Inglis, Sean Abbott, Xavier Bartlett, Mahli Beardman, Cooper Connolly, Ben Dwarshuis, Jack Edwards, Cameron Green, Matthew Kuhnemann, Mitch Owen, Josh Philippe, Matthew Renshaw, Matthew Short, Marcus Stoinis, Travis Head, Adam Zampa.
