Dhaka to consult players before deciding on travel to India

LAHORE: Pakistan is considering withdrawing from the T20 World Cup 2026 if Bangladesh chooses not to take part in the tournament due to its refusal to travel to India over security concerns, sources revealed on Thursday.

According to insiders, Pakistan could take the step if the International Cricket Council (ICC) rejects Bangladesh’s request to relocate its fixtures from India during next month’s event. Bangladesh has expressed reservations about playing in India amid strained political ties between the two countries and has asked for its matches to be scheduled in Sri Lanka, the tournament’s co-host, citing safety issues.
